Getting Back Into Running After An Injury

Like so many people this winter, I too took a spill in this Polar Vortex Hell that we had to live through. I actually do have a bit of history with this ankle, I now refer to it as my “granny ankle” due to its generally cranky attitude and its quick disposition to turn on me. As much as I enjoy turning my ankle and ending up on my backside in awkward positions in public places – NOT – I have been…

CATCH THE PRESENT

“You can never catch the present living in the past!” – Chip Esajian

One of the greatest lessons you can learn from the past is how to live victoriously and gratefully in the present, to create a greater future; so that you never have to regret the past.

If you’re stuck in the mud of the pastyou won’t be able to thrive in the miracle of the present!   Don’t live in the mistakes and regrets…

This story is a little dated, but it is one of my favorites….

One lovely morning, many years ago, I took “A” out with me to do some running around. As we approached the car I noticed that it was covered in bird poop. Not a little bit, one or two, but absolutely covered. I started complaining to “A” about how the birds were dive bombing our car and wondering what we had ever done to these birds to…

Stranger in a Stranger Land

Recently I ventured onto myspace. Myspace was the first online social site I became involved with. I met some interesting people there & kept up with some friends there. I loved being able to add music and games to the profile. It really just seemed more fun then the current sites. There were even blogs of great variety to explore.
Facebook seems more a watercooler then an interesting place…

Creating Holiday Meaning For Children

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to send some wishes out to have a Happy Passover & A Happy Easter to all of the folks who are celebrating this week. While you are having lots of chocolatey fun with your families it is sometimes hard to find ways to teach your children about the meanings behind these holidays. If you take them straight up they are a bit of a horror story to try and share with younger…

It’s the 13th, but don’t fret for Friday it isn’t!

It’s the 13th of April. It’s a Monday, so there’s no need for worry. Although I must say, especially as a child during the school year, I always found Mondays much more frightening and intimidating then Mondays in general.

I’ve never even found the number 13 or the date of the 13th particularly imposing. I know it has precidents in history. The 13th is an unlucky date as it is on that date when…

How to Create a Good ‘Bad Guy” – Your Antagonist April 7, 2014

Image

In The Pharm House, Jack O’Connor, Nicholas’ boss is one of the bad guys. Jack’s a fairly unlikable kind of guy.

“Jack was a Senior Vice President and a member of the Marshall Board of Directors.  Tall, barrel-chested with gunmetal gray crew-cut hair, Jack was one of those over-testosteroned manly men who thought that regardless of whose company he was in, his was the superior intellect…

Driver’s Ed

My oldest daughter just turned 16 a few weeks ago. Accepting that I have a 16 year old was incredible on its own but then I had to take her to write her drivers test and she passed of course. Now I’m trying to come to terms with the fact that she is driving a car.

Here’s a little background info on me…

I’m a tad bit afraid of letting go. Things like letting them cross the street, meet friends out…

Dracula 2000 (2000)There is a legend amongst the Hebrew people that tags Judas, betrayer of Christ, as the original vampire. We know from ancient texts that Vampires were present on the Earth prior to Jesus’ crucifixion, yet the legend is still quite intriguing.

The story can be found within the book of Matthew. Judas was an apostle of Christ that betrayed Jesus with a kiss for thirty pieces of silver. When Christ…

Mamma Mayhem – update

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to give you an update on B’s condition. We went to the Sick Kid’s Hospital and saw the Specialist and his prognosis is very good. His Epiploic Appendigitis is recovering nicely and it is actually his muscles that are giving him the most grief right now.

I’m sure you have all heard about how people who have an amputation say they can still feel their leg or arm hurting…
